Get OUT There in California
"It's hard to be what you can't see." An idea we've heard and said time and time again. Through our SUMMIT Mentorship program, OTA offers LGBTQ youth in the Bay Area the opportunity to connect with an LGBTQ adult* while exploring the natural world. Over two months the mentors and students will meet each week to embark on a number of exciting adventures. No cost to participate and no experience necessary for the youth.

Join OTA and OBCA on this 14 day Yosemite backpacking to San Francisco Urban Service Course!
Ages 16-18 6/13 to 6/26 $3,620*
You’ll backpack through glacially carved mountains in one of the most iconic locations in the world – Yosemite National Park. After a week spent backpacking among the granite domes, you’ll return to the City by the Bay for urban service and cultural immersion. Additionally, students will celebrate individuality as they move through San Francisco - a place rich in history and context for equity conversations, experiences, service and reflection. This course is designed for LGBTQ teens to build community and cultivate self-efficacy through service-learning, leadership development and self-discovery in both natural and urban environments.
