GET OUT THERE Summer adventure challenge
The NEW Get OUT There Summer Adventure Challenge allows LGBTQ youth to participate in fun adventures in their communities across the country (with regions determined by 5 major cities) all summer, but on a schedule that works for them.
In 2015 OTA went sea kayaking. In 2016 we went surfing and hiking. In 2017 we backpacked through the North Cascades. 2018's expedition will be based in the Wenatchee National Forest for 5 days of whitewater rafting, rock climbing and hiking.
Dates: 7/22 to 7/26 Ages: 14 through 17
"It's hard to be what you can't see."
An idea we've hear d and said time and time again. Through our SUMMIT Mentorship program, OTA offers LGBTQ youth in the Seattle area the opportunity to connect with an LGBTQ adult* while exploring the natural world. Over two months the mentors and students will meet each week to embark on a number of exciting adventures. No cost to participate and no experience necessary for the youth.

For four weeks last July and August, seven LGBTQ teens and two LGBTQ crew leaders built trail, employment skills and community throughout central Washington. The experience culminated in a five day sea kayaking expedition through the Central Salish Sea with OTA's founder, Executive Director and Lead Sea Kayak Guide. We're pleased to be partnering with Northwest Youth Corps again this summer to offer this amazing opportunity for a second time.
