Summit mentorship

"It's hard to be what you can't see."

An idea we've hear d and said time and time again. Through our SUMMIT Mentorship program, OTA offers LGBTQ youth in the Seattle area the opportunity to connect with an LGBTQ adult* while exploring the natural world. Over two months the mentors and students will meet each week to embark on a number of exciting adventures. No cost to participate and no experience necessary for the youth.

This course is designed for LGBTQ youth to build community and cultivate self-efficacy through leadership development and self-discovery. Uncover your unique character strengths and learn how to let compassion into everyday life by pushing your own limits and working alongside your peers. Led by LGBTQ Outward Bound Instructors & OTA staff.

Northwest Youth Corps Partnership

LGBTQ Inclusion Crews

For four weeks last July and August, seven LGBTQ teens and two LGBTQ crew leaders built trail, employment skills and community throughout central Washington. The experience culminated in a five day sea kayaking expedition through the Central Salish Sea with  OTA's founder, Executive Director and Lead Sea Kayak Guide. We're pleased to be partnering with Northwest Youth Corps again this summer to offer this amazing opportunity for a second time.

Ages 16-19

July 28 through September1 with drop off and pick up sites in Seattle, Washington.

Stipend Provided

It is Northwest Youth Corps goal that no interested student be prevented from participation due to lack of financial means.
